The social concerns committee does many things for the local community to help support the needs of those in the community. Check out some of these events to see what is available for you to assist with:
Recycling - The second Saturday of each month members of St. Paul staff the recycle facility in town. Either show up to help or contact the office for more information on St. Paul’s part in this worthy ministry.
Giving Tree - Each year around Christmas time there are names made available on a Christmas tree in the lounge at St. Paul. Parishioners are welcome to come and select a person to purchase Christmas gifts for who may not have the chance due to their situation in life. We help over 75 children and young adults each year.
Habitat for Humanity: Some members of the parish and students participate with the local Habitat for Humanity group - provider of affordable homes for low income families. Each year a benefit spaghetti dinner is offered to support this ministry. Over $1,000 is collected from those who participate.
Food for those in need/ Starburst - Inside the church on the side there is a location for depositing can goods and non-perishables items. These items are then transported by parishioners to the local food pantry called Starburst. Bring your non-perishables food items with you to church or stop by during the day to drop off your gifts and we will take it form there.
