Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the Newman Website, St. Paul Campus Parish, and the Newman Center of Ferris State University! Here at the Newman Center our main goal is to cater to you, the college student. We hope to provide you with a strong community of Christian friends, give you great experiences, and offer you a variety of resources to strengthen your personal relationship with God. A person's own relationship with God is absolutely the most important aspect of a Christian's life. If we believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we will spend eternity with Him, but only if we are faithful followers. I'll be the first one to tell you that a strong prayer life equals a less hectic college life, because through prayer we are able to see the big picture that most people miss and we have the opportunity to communicate personally with God. However, the decision to take a more active role in your faith is your own choice and the Newman Center will only offer what you are willing to accept. What I can tell you is that our group offers a variety of weekly activities, a weekend college retreat each semester, various social events, and plenty of memories to cherish. Our weekly meetings are held after the 5pm Student Mass at St. Paul and the FREE student supper. I highly suggest you come and see for yourself if the Newman Center is a good fit for you. If you do decide to attend a meeting or activity, I can guarantee you will be welcomed with open arms, and realize being a Christian in college isn't necessarily a bad thing if you are backed by people that believe in the Savior, and live their lives accordingly just like you. Good Luck and God Bless you through-out your college career! Nicholas Pobocik |
