Text Box: The Gospel According to Matthew
To introduce the People of God to the richness of the Holy Scriptures, the Church developed a three-year-cycle lectionary. Each year, the majority of the Gospel passages proclaimed at Sunday Masses are taken from one of the Synoptic Gospels (i.e., from Matthew, Mark, and Luke). This year, cycle A, the majority of the readings for Sunday Masses are taken from the Gospel of Matthew. We invite you to study and reflect with us during this season of Lent on some of the important themes of this Gospel.
St. Jerome, a famous Scripture scholar of the Church, had an important saying: "Ignorance of Holy Scriptures is the ignorance of Christ." During this season of Lent, let us allow St. Matthew, the evangelist, to lead us deeply into the Mystery of Christ. Presented by Fr. Lam
